The assembly at Trott Brook is, to the best of our knowledge, the oldest continuous Christian gathering in the city of Ramsey. We trace our beginning to around 1898 when a speaker connected to the international “brethren” movement visited Minnesota and brought his message to some farm families north of Anoka. The first meetings were held in individuals' houses. In the early twentieth century the group moved into a small farmhouse at the current location. After a time, the assembly purchased an unused schoolhouse west of Nowthen Boulevard, naming it Trott Brook Gospel Hall. In the 1940's the assembly returned to the enlarged farmhouse, then added more additions in 1986 and 2018.
Nothing remains of the original meeting hall but the roofline, but we still gather on the same principles that guided the families 120 years ago. We seek to have no head but Christ and meet to His name alone. We have no clergy or paid staff but recognize the priesthood and encourage the spiritual gifts of all believers in the Lord Jesus Christ. Our assembly is associated with other like-minded groups in Minnesota, eleven other states, the Bahamas, and the Philippines.
Ministries conducted by believers in our assembly include free Vacation Bible School open to all, five annual youth retreats, and a summer camp in northern Minnesota.
